Cherry Hill | Brochure and Letterhead

Cherry Hill has been printing away! Now they're equipped with business cards, a direct mail piece, a brochure and letterhead.

Problem: They wanted to send the brochure out with personal notes on their letterhead, but a normal letter-size sheet just wouldn't fit without loosing class. Solution: we had the letterhead design printed on a 5x7" linen sheet rather than the normal and ho-hum 8.5x11". Lesson: When you have to solve a problem you always end up with a better end result.

Art Show Process | 'Voices' at George Fox University

You might have seen my call for help last week. I needed to get all my ducks in a row ASAP for an art show: 'Voices' at George Fox University. It's an alumni art show. Obviously, I studied there. I'm so honored they've asked me to come back with several projects in tow. After sifting through countless files and print samples (see above photo), this is what I settled on showing:

• French Press Wall Art #1, 2x2’
• French Press Wall Art #2, 2x2’
• 2008 Rosey Awards Call for Entries Poster, 28x40”
• Livengood|Nowack Snowboard, 6' snowboard
• A Business Card Series of 6

For a split-second I thought, "Great! I'm done." And then I remembered I still had to prep all of the work. Boo. I forgot how much work this involved until I tacked it this week. Thankfully my husband lent a couple extra hands and eyes to get it all centered and mounted. Thank you Bryce and all my informal editors! My work is finally ready.

The show will be up from Tuesday, Sept. 1st - Tuesday, Oct. 20th. There will be a closing reception on October 20th from 5:00-6:30pm. You can view all of the George Fox gallery schedules here.

Cherry Hill | Postcard

Client: Cherry Hill

Project: Direct Mail/Postcard (7x5")

Target Area: Downtown Fredericksburg, VA - 1 mile radius starting from Old Town

Purpose: Get the attention of homeowners who want to stay in the downtown area, but need some kitchen upgrades to make the most of their house.

Communication Goals: "Let people know we can take care of a complete kitchen remodel, our craftsmanship is great...all that good stuff".

You got it! Cherry Hill has a lot of 'good stuff' to talk about (click on the above photo to view the postcard content). We took style cues from the Cherry Hill business card and crafted an elegant piece that will surely drum up some new Cherry Hill clients.

Cherry Hill | Business Cards

Well-crafted cabinetry. Well-crafted customer service. That's what you'll find at Cherry Hill Cabinetry. They produce absolutely breathtaking kitchen remodels. While they're at it, they truly put the 'custom' in 'customer service'. Craig Hartsock, the owner of Cherry Hill found StudioM on Inkd. Instead of purchasing already-designed business material templates, Craig requested I create some custom work for them. He's into the whole 'custom' thing if you haven't noticed. And I love that. (Speaking of custom, if the Cherry Hill pattern looks familiar, you saw it here first.)

Although he's now located in Fredericksburg, Virginia, Craig lived in Portland once-upon-a-time. So when he says he'd like something 'classy with PDX character', I know exactly what he's talking about. The first project we tackled was a logo redesign and a business card combo. Craig is smart. He realized it would be silly to go to all of the trouble of creating a new business card design just to slap an old logo on it. 'Old' logos can be a good thing if they have a lot of brand equity and are in line with the company's goals and objectives. But this one wasn't. So now there's a new one!
